Hello,

It’s Garland and it has been a long time since I posted. So I am going to welcome myself back. “Welcome Back Garland!”

One of the things that has amazed me is the attention this post written below in quotes has brought to this blog. The basic logic is, “Be silent, don’t say anything if it disagrees with what I think.” It is so beautiful to live in a country where we can disagree, vehemently disagree and not feel compelled to pick up weapons to punctuate our points. I think it is also important to realize the importance of free speech, whether or not we like what is said. I may feel compelled to respond, but I don’t feel compelled to shut you up. If what I have to say is not more compelling or more true or more well said than what you say, must I “protect” others from what you have to say by shutting you down or stopping you or filtering out what you say from the people? Isn’t it better if I speak AND you speak and then learn from each other and let the people learn from both of us…even if what is learned is that we don’t want to hear another word! If we cannot escape from the words, then we can choose what words we hold dear and excrete the others. We control our minds by controlling the thoughts we hold in our minds and we control our lives by controlling our minds.

Finally, what Brandy tattoos on her arm is her business, it only became my business, when she as a very public figure, did a very public thing and exposed it to the very public. I think it is a very bad move on her part, but it is her choice to have the tattoo and my choice to comment on it.

Thanks,

Garland

p.s. See previous post in quotes below.

“Hi Garland here, I can’t help but think that Brandy’s problems are only beginning when she chooses to tattoo and idol god on her arm. Monica, whom she said inspired her, tattooed Jesus Christ on her arm. Where did Brandy go wrong? Take note of the time since she got that tattoo and let’s see what Ganesh will do for her. One thing is clear to me, it wasn’t Ganesh that gave me the freedom I enjpy in this wonderful country of ours. It was the true God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I just report – You decide! (I am not saying that Brandy can’t change.)

Thanks, Garland E. Harris

PIC: See Brandy’s New Elephant Tattoo!”

Brandy‘s got some fresh ink! Calling tattoo artist Peter Koskela “incredible,” the 31-year-old singer and Dancing With the Stars vet documented her experience on Twitter Monday.

“Getting a tat! OUCH!” she tweeted before posting a series of photos. “What do you babies think?”

Brandy claimed she got an image of the Hindu deity Ganesh tattooed on her left wrist because it symbolizes the “remover of all obstacles.”

According to the singer, fellow R&B diva Monica inspired her to get the mystical body art.

“You know you were the one that got me into tats and Louis Vuitton!” Brandy tweeted.

Monica’s response? “You know I have both wrists done, so I feel your pain.”
